A replacement rechargeable battery for selected car key remotes and fobs where the original battery has become weak, stopped holding charge or caused remote operation issues.

This LIR2016 replacement fob battery is used in compatible car key remotes and small electronic fobs. It is typically required when the remote becomes non-responsive, only works close to the vehicle, stops working completely, or the vehicle reports a key battery warning.

This is designed for remote key repairs where the existing rechargeable battery has failed or no longer holds charge properly. The 90 degree leg layout is for selected remote key repairs using an LIR2016 rechargeable battery, so check both the battery code and leg position.

This style normally requires soldering to the remote circuit board, so professional fitting is recommended unless you are confident with electronic repair work. Incorrect soldering, overheating or forcing the key casing open can damage the remote, which may cost far more to repair than the battery itself.

Suitable for selected rechargeable car key fobs where the battery is fixed to the circuit board rather than clipped in like a standard coin cell.
